Whatever your view on religion, mysticism or science we all have ancestors and they all come from and travel through someplace in space and time.

I was “born and bred” as they would say in Northern Ireland. 100 years previously the north was the home of planters. In advance of that, it was under the protectorate of the Anglo Irish stronghold of Carrickfergus, before that it was the home of the Irish kingdom that invaded Scotland becoming Dalriada.

My own genetic history includes everything from Native American, to Gambian, to Neanderthal. That said as famously studied by Jim Webb I am one of up to 125 Million people who whereas per the title of his book “Born Fighting.” We the Scots Irish founded what is modern-day America and absolutely reshaped the USA giving it 19 of its presidents through the shared origin.

For me my link with the Belfast coat of arms is palpable. The organization I established in my use used the slogan “help others to help ourselves.” Then unaware of the Latin coat of arms. I wonder how many others feel like me the strength of that link to the Belfast message?
